About Us

We are a private Montessori school in College Station. It is the oldest Montessori school in the College Station area, having served the community since 1984.

We are located on three acres of wooded land allowing children to enjoy nature walks, gardening, and raising chickens. We nurture and promote their cognitive, physical, and socio-emotional development through close interactions with their environment.

Why Aggieland Country School?

Our Mission Statement

The mission of the Aggieland Country School is to provide a carefully planned, stimulating Montessori environment which will help children develop within themselves the foundation for a lifetime of learning, thinking, and living. We are a child-centered community of teachers and caregivers that honors individuality and encourages respect for one another and oneself. We believe that the deep commitment and dedication of our small community, which is made up of our school’s children, parents, and staff members, is vital in the fulfillment of this mission.

Our Core Values

  • Respect – Self-respect, respect for others, tolerance, honesty, integrity, and responsibility.

  • Compassion – Concern for one another, for humanity, kindness, peacefulness, understanding, acceptance, and warmth

  • Love of Learning – Discovery, exploration, working together, curiosity, and ownership.

  • Service – A lifelong commitment to give something back through service to others who are in need.

  • Independence – Doing for oneself, understanding one's own capabilities.

  • Interdependence – Responsibility to and healthy dependence upon one another, a love of community.

  • Excellence – Quality in all that we do to serve the children, and the cultivation of the pursuit of excellence within our students.

  • Universal Understanding – A global perspective, and an understanding of being part of something bigger than oneself.

  • Children will learn to explore music in a prepared environment through instruments like Montessori bells, glockenspiels and recorders. They will learn to sing and dance with music from around the world.

  • Our school is situated on three wooded acres allowing for nature exploration, guided learning of their natural environment and nature walks.

  • Our art curriculum is designed to spark the interest of young minds and allows children to express their creativity. Art explorations include works inspired by famous artists like Van Gogh and Frida Kahlo.

  • Children in elementary and primary classrooms learn Spanish with native Spanish-speaking teachers every afternoon.

Education is a natural process carried out by the child and is not acquired by listening to words but by experiences in the environment.”
